looking for a good 9mm single stack auto for under 500$ thanks for your info.

Sig p225 is my personal favorite.

I like my P225 better than any other single stack 9mm that I've tried in terms of firing the gun. When it comes to carry though, that's a big gun for it's capacity. It's larger than my G19. For that reason, I would get a 3913 or a Makarov PM.

A Sig P6 can be picked up at JG Sales for I think about $329.00 plus shipping. Most have been carried a lot and shot a little.

Great carry gun.

Thats a great deal on those P7's
I don't really have a use for it except range duty but even then it would be fun to carry just for the uniqueness.

I second the Sig P6, with a caveat...P6's are a great value for a fine gun, but make sure you get one manufactured after 1991, or be prepared to spend some more money, for a replacement barrel, or to have your original barrel's ramp re-done, as they weren't originally designed to use JHP ammo. I had a nice one, but it was older, and by the time I figured in all the upgrades I'd wanted to do, it made more sense to just sell it, and get something else. Good Luck.

Star BM. A "1911 look-alike" all steel, 3.77" bbl. About slimest around @ .84". For reference-- about size of Colt Commander 1911. There is also a more rare version with and alloy frame-- BKM. I also like the full size Star Model B/B Super--- these are the 5"bbl models. All excellent, reliable pistols .

I came close to buying a S&W 36, but went with a HP. Best single stack 9mm for me would be the Sig P6.

I'm assuming you want this gun for carry? Can't imagine why else you'd want a single stack 9mm.

Guys like me with small hands appreciate the difference in grip thickness. And for a range gun, it doesn't matter if it's single stack or double stack. I don't mind reloading more for a gun with a single stack magazine. I shoot a lot of revolvers too, so high capacity guns don't hold any special significance to me.

Some of my favorite range guns are 1911's, so I'm not a big capacity whore either. It's just that some of the nicest 9mm's out there are double stack (Beretta 92, Sig 226, Browning Hi-Power, etc).

I think a STI Trojan in 9mm might be a very cool range gun. Sweet 1911 ergonomics and trigger, cheap 9mm ammo.

Smith 3913 but the prices are reaching the level of HK P7s anymore so you might as well get the P7.

But really to stay under 5 bills you have to go with a P6 or P225.

Smith 4506s come to mind as well since they can be had for under 400.

Many 2nd and 3rd Gen Smiths will fit your category. Mags can be tough to find for most of them though.
