Is it correct that all of the new manufactured handgun ammo from Black Hills are loaded with the Gold Dot bullets??? I know Black Hills offers new and reloaded ammo but I am specifically talking about their new stuff. If so does anyone have a website of someone with good pricing on it? I also understand Double Tap is loading with the Gold Dots as well but I don't really know anything about them. My understanding is that Black Hills and perhaps Double Tap as well provide a better "load" with the Gold Dots as compared to Speer. Looking for advice and opinions.

Black Hills does indeed use the Gold Dot bullet for their ammunition. This is an excellent bullet and BH loads their rounds a bit hotter (more velocity) then does Speer. However, faster does not always equal better. Keep in mind that the Speer 124gr. +P round travels out of a 4inch barrel at 1220 fps. This is the ideal or preferred velocity according to speer. The New York police department has had a great amount of success with this round at 1220fps.
Black hills pushes their 124g +P faster, at 1250 fps. The difference is marginal at best, but they also charge less and are known for outstanding quality control. In short, you can not go wrong with Black Hills ammo. They are a member of SAMI.
I would advise to research double-tap some more. They push their 9mm rounds faster then anyone else. This extra speed is not always good as if you are using a 4inch barrel your 9mm round is going faster then the performance envelope that Speer designed their rounds to go.
