I have a Serpa for my BU 642. Lt side carry. Paddle Holster. Every time I train I have to nearly disrobe to get it off. Hangs inside my jeans, under my belt, etc. Mostly that tab/hook sticking out of the paddle hangs inside my jeans, regardless of how I rotate the paddle holster or try to stick my finger under the tab. I mean I basically have to drop trou and wrassel the thing.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact that it is not going to come out with the revolver on a rough draw. Just feeling really dumb trying to figure out if there is a trick to taking it off.

Any help for a confused guy? Please don't tell me I am the only one w/ this problem.....

I would quickly starve, if not jailed immediately.

Wonder if they'd take the durn thing off for me before locking me up?

Thanks for the option. :)

I know what you mean. I took off the two hooks that are held on by screws, and still I couldn't get it off without dropping the pants. It ain't gonna fall off!

Are there any tabs, projections or clips on the inside of the paddle that grip your clothing? You would have to remove them, if this is possible. A heated knife blade could cut them off. However, you now run the risk of pulling the holster up with the gun.

Me, too, Guns. When I first tried it, I thought I was gonna have to cut the danged thing off of my pants! Removing the hooks really didn't help much at all... in the end, I just use the belt loop attachment (not sure if all of them come with both). Its much easier to loosen and re-fasten a belt than wrestle with that paddle.

I guess its supposed to be a 'retention' holster, but come on... there's a difference between secure and permanently attached!

I feel your pain. If you beak out into a jog, it seems to bounce around, but when you want it off it's like wrestling an alligator.

I switched to the belt attachment for that reason.

Definitely not you!

Same here. I bought it hoping to use it for to and from work. I still use the holster but the paddle attachement is in "the box".
