BLM/ Outdoor shooting near Sacramento

Can anyone recommend where to shoot handguns outdoors legally within 50 miles of Sacramento? I've been using the indoor range at The Gun Room all winter, but it's too nice now to be indoors! Thanks in advance and all that..

Colfax is about 50 miles away. Help clean up the trash too, so it doesn't get closed down. I've never been there myself, but people post about it in the Great California Outdoors section of CalGuns.net

You can try the Lincoln Rifle Club Range

If you take HW 65 North from Roseville, the range is about a mile north of the town of Lincoln. It has a covered firing line, concrete benches, and pistol / rifle ranges at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. There are also a few gongs up the hill at 250 and 300 yards (I think, don't quote me!).

Although it is a club range, it is open to the public on most weekends.
