Bluejeans and deep pockets.

I mostly wear Levi's, and I keep a j-frame in a De Santis Nemesis in the pocket, without any problems.

Carhartt blue jeans have deeper pockets than most jeans, although they are still on the small side (IMO) for anything larger than, for example, a LCP or like sized pistol. They also have more belt loops for greater support of a belt holstered gun.

In a "kahki" you can't beat Columbia's Lander with the pocket behind a pocket. Even has a zipper to mitigate those "embarrasing moments" when you cross your legs. Both pockets are deep enough for pocket carry including a snub with Hogue Monogrips. They make this in a short as-well.

Pocket behind a pocket.

Tractor Supply has been selling what I believe are labelled, "Blue Mountain" jeans for $10/pair. They have a very deep front pocket that you have to really cock your elbow up by your ear to reach into the bottom of. I think they are decent jeans. I've sure got a bunch of them.

There are a wide variety of jeans available today. You have to be careful and look for the kind you want. Some have looser pockets than others. One of my jeans, a very traditional, "regular" Wrangler, has very nice and deep pockets. Many of my other jeans have usable pockets, but they're "tighter," meaning it is more difficult to get your hand in and out, and would be pretty useless for pocket carry (unless you happen to have an extra 1-2 minutes to fish out your pistol in a defensive encounter).

I went shopping at a local Meijers store and checked pockets of a number of brands. The only brand that they had I liked was 'Falls Creek' relaxed fit. That works well with a nemesis and my 442-1.

Thanks,

Clutch

All brands have "models" with tiny and large pockets, you really have to judge it for yourself. Walmart jeans are usually pretty roomy, but not always. I bought a pair that has abnormally deep pockets with a tiny opening without realizing it. This means insertion of my hand is difficult, I have to reach farther down than usual then the gun has trouble getting out. Yeah, I don't use those for pocket carry. Stay away from places like American Eagle, Abercrombie, and Aeropostle. Their pockets are usually only big enough for some change and tiny hands like that guy from the old Burger King commercials who has trouble handling the whopper.
