Brady attacks Pete Coors

I've gone to a couple of his rallies and had the chance to talk to him for a few minutes. He seems to be the real deal, and the lefties are definately scared, as evidenced by the article.

Here's hoping he crushes Salazar in November.

Coors has actually talked about MG's? I'd be mighty curious to hear what he said.

BTW, does anyone else think that Ken Salazar is pandering? That guy looks about as out of place in a cowboy hat as a Monet hanging in country-and-western bar.

Salazar most definately is pandering, especially with his "supporting the 2nd amendment" line.

I've said a few things to friends over a couple beers about that hat, but I don't think it's very High Road :D

The Brady Law's background checks have stopped more than a million felons, fugitives and stalkers from buying guns.

Now that that is established; How many of those same felons bought an illegal gun off the street or burglared a home or business to steal one?

A large percentage of the real BGs that was turned down probably, who really wanted a firearm, had a firearm within 24 hours. No five day waiting period for them.

I am NOT talking about the guy that has been living right, but had some mark on their record from their youth or early manhood.

The Brady Law disarms the honest man.

Was that a news story? Because it looked like straight-up propaganda to me.

it wasn't a news story. It was a press release by the brady bunch that yahoo, for some reason, decided to print.

This is the second occasion (last time was Alan Keyes) where jim brady implied someone else's mental instability (last time it was "he sounds like he was dropped on his head"). Am I the only one who finds it extremely ironic/ignorant that a person with such serious neurological damage that he'll spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair is making comments like these? It's kinda like someone with cerebral paulsy going around calling people "retards."

Note the strategic placement in the Biz section, trying to impact Coor's biz interests.

The press has chosen sides.

Hint: It ain't ours.

Just today, AP put out a newswire story, which Drudge picked up, claiming that when Bush wished Clinton well with his medical problems, the crowd booed, and Bush did nothing to stop them.

When the tape was reviewed, the crowd DID NOT IN FACT BOO.

A retraction went out somewhat later, but the original tainted story has already been spread.

A long string of stuff like this has shot the press's credibility as objective completely to hell, and it's just getting worse as Kerry borders on meltdown.

Yahoo puts out a lot of press releases from pro and anti gun groups.

that Jim Brady himself (rather than his wife or other surrogates) is attacking Coors would be reason enough for me to vote for him

The Brady Law's background checks have stopped more than a million felons, fugitives and stalkers from buying guns.

Yet the media won't admit that guns are used lawfuly in self defense about 2 million times a year.

All the "Brady Law's background checks" have stopped is that "more then a million" felons from buying guns at gun shops (and how many of that "more then a million felons" where actually false NICS refusals that where later overturned?)

Must be nice to be able to pull numbers out of thin air and nobody questions it.

Can someone tell me if I'm straight on my history?

Wasn't the Brady law a mandatory waiting period? Wasn't the NICS instant background check an idea the NRA floated? Or have I heard wrong?

I guess if he wins we'll find out who needs their head examined - Coors or the guy calling his positions "insane" and "extreme".
