Brand New S&W Shield Plus optics ready

Just bought from Bass Pro 04/25 noticed today the front night-site does not work manufacture date 12-12-23. Anyone else have trouble with the sights on a brand new S&W

Mines a couple years old and work just fine.
Ive put a swamp fox sentinel on it, cowitnessed them as best as I could, and it hit everything I shot at yesterday at the range.

I know nothing about the Shields. Is the night sight Paint or Tritium? If paint you likely need to charge it outside or with a bright flashlight.

I have a 7 year old M&P9c, and a 10 year old M&P40, the night sights seem to be as bright as when I first got them. I would contact S&W, from my experience their customer service has been good, not terribly personable but they do take care of business. If they ask you to send the gun back to replace the front sight it won’t cost you anything other than time.

It happens, just call S&W and they'll probably want the slide back to replace the sight. Happened to me with one of my P365s, the front went dead within a few months, and they fixed it for free.

Encountered that on a brand new Sig P238, so not a Smith. Called them up and they asked me to email a picture of the sight not working (tricky but doable) Did it while still on the phone. Was told I could either send the slide or install a new sight myself. Had a new sight in the mailbox 2 days later.

My Shield Plus night sights work fine; the gun is a couple years old.
