I have just started to reload and have a cleaning question. At what point in the cleaning process do you polish the brass. Do you add the polish to the tumbler with the cron cob media or is there a different step. Sorry if my question sounds dumb. I am using an tumbler for cleaning if that makes a difference.

thank you in advance!!

If the corn cob media you have does not already have polishing media mixed with it, you can purchase polish material separately and add it to the media yourself (following the directions that come with it). I clean/polish the brass as the first step in the reloading process, before any use of dies. Clean brass is good for the sizing dies. The brass does not have to be polished, just clean. Polishing just looks nice.

Don't worry about dumb questions, they are not dumb.

I use Midways brass polish, just dump it in with your media, let it agitate for a couple of minutes and add you brass.

As the others have said just add your polishing compound to the corn cob. If you use some generic polisher make sure you get something that does not contain ammonia because it will weaken the brass.

Thanks for all the help. I just got back from the local reloading supply shop and got some flitz tumbler/media additive. oh and sorry that i did not tell you that I am using untreated corn cob media. I did not know that you could get it treated. The guy at the shop told me to add about 1 Tbl spoon to my media. I am really excited to see just how shinny I can make them look.
