I have a Browning A5 12GA. Does anyone Know roughly when they were made. I bought it for $120 And want to know if that was a good buy.

they made several million units from 1903-1999/2000 with none made during WW 1 or 2. the last ~22 years or so they were made in Japan by Miroku, with the other ~75 years of production made in Belgium. post a (partial) serial number and we can date your for you. Dont shoot steel shot in a Belgian barell Japanese barrells, steel ok.

$120 is a great deal if its shootable. i picked up a ~1927 with 80% finish, and cracked fore end that had the barrell had been hacked on for $150. i put a synthetic stock on it, scrubbed the insides and cut the barrell down to 18 and its my HD shotgun, one day i will cut down the stock and make a true whipit gun. i also inherited my 60s vintage A5 from my grandpa and its LNIB. glossy stock and lustery blueing, its not for sale but i have seen similar copies go for ~1k$

factory barrels and wood stocks are rather spendy. you can get a ramline for $50

find spring kits and other goodies here. i would reccomend grabbing a few rebuild spring kits before they are all gone. http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/browning-auto-5
