So, there are some more comercials about how BSA is now producing a supe
PHP:
r scope that is warrentied for life, and can handle all the abuse you can dish it. Im curious as to anyone who has used this scope, how do you like it? How does it track? clarity of the glass? I was thinking about just saving up and looking for a quality used scope, but with my super tite budget, buying a,used scope creates a "no warrenty" problem. Do you think Redfield would be a better way to go? Thanks guys, Brian.

As far as the warrantee goes it depends on how "lietime" is defined. Is the warantee to the original owner or a general if it breaks we'll fix it warantee? Not quite the same situation but years ago I had a Craftman socket wrench that broke. Now the wrench was old looked like it came over on the boat with Columbus. Brought it back to Sears and was given greif by the salesman. My reply was "the guarantee says lifetime,it doesn't specify whose" I got a new wrench. I would call some of the manufacturers and ask what their policy is if you were to buy a used scope.

I got to be a scope snob a while back. I got hooked on Nightforce and never looked back. Now, everytime I buy a rifle, I'm looking at $1500+ to scope it. I don't regret it. I take comfort in knowing that my scope will take a licking and keep on ticking. I often see instances where a guy would drop his rifle and immediately assume that his scope is going to need to be re-zeroed. I don't worry about things like that.

Still, I also know LOTS of guys shooting with BSAs, cheap Walmart Bushnells and the like, and they seem to get the job done. Personally, I believe that buying good equipment, more often that not, gets you at least peace of mind. A friend of mine that I shoot with puts a BSA on top of all of his rifles. When he has a problem, he sends it in and they fix it. You can take that as either good or bad.

All I can say to you is to buy from a reputable vendor and let us know how it went.
