I recently "tested" some Buffalo Bore 32acp HCFN (hard cast flat nose) 75g +P out of my Kel Tec P32. This was an unofficial, and unscientific "test" to compare it to my regular carry load, the Fiocci 73g FMJ. The test medium was a stack of wet phone books that were duct taped together.
I have to admit, I was impressed with the performance of the Buffalo Bore ammo. It penetrated about 20% deeper than the Fiocci, and it made a cleaner and larger permanent puncture cavity due to the flat nose. One thing to consider is that the flat nose makes the cartridge shorter and is therefore prone to rimlock if you have not installed a rimlock kit on your mag. I will likely only use these rounds in the chamber and at the top of the mag to avoid rimlock issues. The rest will be the good ol Fiocci ball.
The +P factor was not really noticeable recoil-wise. The snap of the recoil was not more than that of the standard 73g ball. Overall, I think Buffalo Bore hit the nail on the head with this load. It resolves 2 major weak points of the 32acp... lack of penetration and lack of permanent tissue damage. Now if they can just make the price a bit more reasonable... $1+ per round = ouch.
