As the very happy owner of a Czech 82, I was wondering what the consensus was as far as getting a Bulgarian Makarov for CCW. I love my Czech 82, but it's too heavy and thick for comfortable IWB carry. The P-64 looks good, but the supply seems to have dried-up. Is the Bul. Mak similar in size and weight? I don't have issues with the reliability or caliber as I'm aware that the Maks are ultra-reliable and I'm fine with the 9x18.
Thanks in advance

Very reliable, flat and easy to carry.

The downsides? The sights are small, you have the DA/SA transition from first to second shot, and they are heavy.

Try one before you buy; if you like it, any Mak you find that's in decent shape will serve you well.

(Pro Tip: Replace the recoil spring, many of them are pretty well worn).

In terms of size and weight, I have both, and generally speaking, they feel about the same to me. The only real difference is the thickness of the grip. The Mak may be a bit lighter than a fully-loaded CZ.

Thinner grip would be a big plus for CC. How would the Mak stack-up against a P-64 if they were to reappear on the market? Looks like either can be had for around $225, both carry 8+1 (I think) both have a rough DA but pretty smooth SA (from what I've read).
It sort of hurts because I'll be comparing either the the CZ-82, too bad it's just too big to carry IWB comfortably....
