did it still make loud noise when fired under water?

It still made noise, but you could not tell it was a gun shot if you heard it, and you would have to be close to hear it. It sounded like...if you hold your hand a few inches above the water, then push down fast and hard. It will make a "gulp" sound that is similar to a single roll of thunder. I only put my arm a few inches into the water, and the report could not be heard past 100 feet. I will make further tests and report back here. I would imagine that I could go a little deeper and get better results.
