pretty straight forward question... ended up with a .44 magnum RCBS mold pretty much for free. Before I sell it for cheap, I was wondering if I can resize this Semi Wad Cutter 245 grain down to a .41 magnum in a resizer? Can this much be taken off in one step or would it need to be taken off a little at a time?

I doubt you would have any success doing it.
And I doubt you would have any grease grooves left to hold bullet lube if you did.

i was just curious, I ordered my .41 molds this weekend. I hope they aren't backordered, seems as if .41 has now become part of the craziness. Anyhow, I got a super deal on a box of molding supplies and had some RCBS molds in the kit. I guess I'll just sell what I don't need and use the funds to get other things I do need.

The RCBS molds are of good quality. If they've been take care of (no rust, hammer marks, etc.) they will sell easily.
As the others have posted, going from .430" down to .411" is too much. It would wipe out the lube grooves and require a great amount of force to accomplish.

Bullet dia for the 44 mag is .429, dia for the 41 mag is .410, sooooooo.
If, and thats a big "IF" I was going to attempt it I would try it with a Lee sizing die & std. reloading press. But the sizing/lubing presses I use are the old Lyman #45's.
Your are only swedging 8 1/2 thousands per side, lube grooves on most of my moulds are 12 1/2 thousands deep. That will leave a groove of 4 thousands, is that enough for the amound of lube needed for the bullet/barrel? I have no idea.

shadow, that's kinda what I was thinking, would probably squash it... As it turns out though, my .41 mold is on back order (even though the site said in stock)... boo. I never thought .41 would get caught up in all this frenzy... anyhow, I'm about to go put the .44 in the "trading post" along with some dies I don't need to try and get a .41 mold...
as a side note... Titan Reloading is a drop shipper, at least with their molds. I called after I made the post here to check my order status, and when I got home this evening I had a message stating that they would "send it when they got it"... Not exactly angry about it, just disappointed that they would list it as "in stock" and then find out that it's a drop ship item. I guess I have to give them something for returning my phone call though.

To those claiming it will only smoosh the bullet I ask this, have you in fact tried it.
The only bullet that took out the lube grooves either by cutting or smooshing or whatever were the tumble lube bullets by Lee. Their grooves are very shallow.
But what do I know other than it worked for me, but I did get leading, probably from not enough lube.
