I have a bushmaster carbon15 with 3 shot burst that is about a year old. The problem with the weapon system is when I have it on single fire it sometimes fires two rounds with one pull of the trigger. I have cleaned and cleaned again used different mags, ammo, can someone help I dont want to send it to the factory because its out of warranty. I can have this weapon I`m a LEO. Thanks for any help

I haven't dealt much with Bushmaster, but seems as if there is a flaw such as this, as I'm assuming this is a flaw since that does not sound normal obviously, that they should be able to help you.

i've had good success with other companies even after their warranty has expired. Not always the case, but it's worth a shot to send it in. Add a note with you number and ask for a quote before the firearm be fixed in case there is a charge...might not charge you...most companies want their customers to be happy....

I feel like I'm preaching to the choir....i wouldn't hesitate to spend the few dollars to send it in and see if they can help

You have a privately owned, 3 shot burst capable rifle? LEO or not, I thought those had to be department owned/registered.

Don't you have an armorer for your department? Have him/her take a look at it.

Call RemBushmasterington and tell them your problem. Send it in with letterhead and hopefully they can get it back quick.

Hi guys, newbie here. I have a quick question hopefully someone can answer. I have a top load carbon 15. Yes it is a Ca. Compliant model. I was wondering if just changing the lower can change it to a bottom mag feed. Any feedback would be great. Thanks and God bless.

Yes, you need a new lower with a mag hole in the bottom and a punch it and drop it button.

The upper is the same exact thing.

Thanks RC.. Much appreciated. Oh yeah, when you refer to punch it and drop it button are you referring to the "bullet button"?

Your problem is in the fire control system. There is a ratchet set up that should count down when in burst fire o0n on three it allows the secvondary sear to engauge to stop the full auto cycle. Not sure what part is the problem without looking at it - it could be the rachet itself or the secondary sear.

These weapons can be legaly worked on by local gunsmiths (FFL licensed) so if you have a local familiar with the weapon you can try that. Otherwise a factory trip might still be the best option, particularly if it needs parts.

No, I was referring to a standard AR-15 mag release catch, button, & spring.

You punch it, and the mag falls out on the ground so you can stuff a new loaded mag in the hole in the lower the empty mag fell out of.

It's the same thing when you're talking about Ca. Compliant. But much thanks RC. I really appreciate your help.

Ah, the three-shot burst fire control parts still have not been addressed by you.

Just because you are a Police Officer does not make you immune from federal law.

Unless your gun has been anointed & blessed with a tax stamp & registration from the AFT, or it is the property of the police department you work for and they did the paperwork?

You are breaking a Federal Law if you have it in your possession, and you are subject to up to five years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
