Bushmaster M4 question?

I just bought a Bushmaster M4A2 and I thought I was buying the A3 (removable carry handle). Is there any way I could change it to an A3 so I have the option to take the carry handle off? I'm new to AR's. What would that cost me?.....Thanks

You would have to change the upper receiver. Then you would have to reinstall all your parts onto the new upper receiver.

It might be better to sell the upper or trade it. Several items are attached to the upper receiver that are difficult to transfer (barrel, gas port, forward assist, etc.).

If replacing/trading isn't possible, then you have some options open to you. Here's one possibility:

One Piece Tactical Mount

This attaches to the inside groove of the carry handle, creating a Weaver rail for accessory attachment. Has a groove in the center to allow the use of the iron sights. Hopefully this will get you started in the right direction.
