I've decided to pick up a spare break action rifle (not sure which caliber) for mixed game hunting. I've decided on a used break action because I'm not looking to replace any of my other guns;however, it fits the situation i'm in for the next year perfectly. That being said, what should I look out for with used break actions and what should my inspection include?
Second, should i go with a centerfire, .22mag, or 20 gauge or larger shotgun? Consider that I'll have a bow and .22LR as well and I'm trying to maximize the game I can take with one gun.
To be clear I'm in Georgia, so most of my shots will be within 100 yards and I have cover to close that distance. Also, I can take small game with .22 rimfire or shotguns, deer with centerfire or shotguns, turkey with shotguns, and yotes with all of the above. All can be taken with a bow as well.
