C-96 w Stock in Excellent condition, worth the price??

The last I hear the Euro is 1.58 American dollars. that would be right around 2700.00$. I can't see it going for that much. Are there any factors that drive European gun prices up? ( or stated more clearly "gun prices in Europe")

well.. treo.. consider that the € went up a lot in confront of the $ lately..

Ecomonics isn't my specialty, to me it appears to be a straight conversion, I.E. if it costs 1800€ then its 2700 $.
Perhaps I'd have a better grasp on the price if you could tell me what an avarage weekly wage in Europe is.

I'd venture to say that it's quite rare, IME, to see an C-96 in that kind of original condition; at least in my part of the country.
Part of that may be due to the relatively large number of surplused models, many altered and/or refinished, that were imported from China several years ago. These comprise the vast majority of what I've personally seen offered for sale at shows and the occasional shop.
IMO, with "value" being an entirely subjective term and always relative to a particular individual, the only meaningful answer must be "Whatever you can get someone to pay for it on any given day. No more, no less."
Obviously, what an avid collector of the genre might be willing to part with in order to obtain it is one thing and what a person of my own modest means and limited interest would is quite another.
All I can tell you is that I bought the only C-96-type pistol I've ever owned, an NRA VG+ condition Shansei Arsenal .45 ACP, several years ago at auction for $950, plus taxes and transfer fees.
I shot it until my curiousity was satisfied and relegated it to the safe.
I sold it last year for $2400, mostly because someone else wanted it enough to offer me the cash.

I would love a C96, I wish I could see the pictures right now (work) but I personally would jump on a C96 in excellent condition if I could afford to.
Maybe I will have a future goal of getting a shooter Mauser and having it refinished in NP3 or Tripp's hard chrome, something that will keep it going for a long time.

I think that's a fair price -- if you could put the gun on an American firearms auction site, it would certainly bring that or more.

Is it an original matching stock?
If yes, than it's a reasonable deal. If not, then it's way overpriced.

Is that "7.63 Mauser" marking on the barrel original? There also appears to be a faint line on the barrel just forward of the chamber area. Could the barrel have been cut off and another fitted on?

It looks like a Postwar Bolo, made about 1921-1923.
The faint step at the back of the barrel looks original, but I've never seen that engraving on the barrel. Maybe added later?

It's a re done bolo for sure with a Lothar Walther barrel (properly) stubbed on,repro grips. I sold one like that , with stock and in equal condition 3 years ago for $1200 on Gunbroker. It was a suberb shooter.
An all original Broom handel with matching stock in that conditioned unrefinished would certainly be worth $2700

I am NOT a Mauser expert, but this gun just does not look right by what I was able to Google, this gun just does not look right. I think it is a rebuild, and a mixmaster at that.
It has a Bolo grip but a long tapered barrel without barrel band front sight and with odd barrel marking. And a solder seam at that.
Looks like rust pits through the refinish. Expensively redone and then neglected, apparently.
