"Victim Strikes Back, Shoots Two Robbers, Kills One"

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting of two men that occurred during a suspected robbery.

On June 22, 2003, at around 4:40 a.m., three suspects, two males and one female, entered the victim’s residence, in the Wilmington Area of Los Angeles and demanded property.

The victim armed himself with a handgun and shot at the suspects.

The two male suspects were hit by the bullets and the female robber escaped unharmed.

29 year-old Gary Rodela of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and his unidentified 23 year-old male companion was listed in critical condition.

Pretty good shooting, I'd say. Hope the Marxist Socialist inspired hierarchy at the D.A's. office doesn't decide to prosecute the homeowner.

FWIW, was born and raised in that area. it's a no BS place along the harbors there. Probably one of the most conservative blue collar places in L.A. County.
