I just saw Cabela's is selling bulk ammo in .357SIG, .40S&W and .45ACP. It's only $59.99 for 300 rounds. I prefer name brand ammo for carry but at this price it would be good for the range. Anyone try this ammo for range/plinking use. Is it clean?

My dad had some of the LRN. It was no more dirty than one would expect typical LRN to be. Personally though this doesn't seem like a great deal to me. Ammo can certainly be had for cheaper than this.

It's only the .357 sig that's $59.99 per 300. The .45 ammo is $75 for 300 rounds and the .40 is $53.

I thought I saw the WWB .45 at walmart for something like 18.00 per 100 so 75.00 for 300 isn't a deal. Maybe I am missing somethig though.

I put 250 rounds of their .223 through my Mini-14. It worked just fine. The stuff I used, and their .38s that I saw in their PA store were made by Ultramax.

I've used it in several calibers, and it's generally good range ammo. It is a little dirty, though.

Their .45 ACP was B-A-D: many misfires, inaccurate, dirty. I would NEVER buy it again.

I bought the 9mm 300 round bulk pack.

5 misfires and one round blew up my marlin camp carbine. (Damaged the bolt buffer spring and assembly)

I'll never buy that crap again

I bought four 50-round boxes of Remington/UMC 230-gr FMJs at my local Wal-Mart yesterday for $9.59 a box. Very nice, very clean ammo, better than Winchester White Box (WWB).

Makes that Cabelas reloaded bulk ammo at $12.50 per box for LRN ($13.33 for FMJ) plus shipping look like not such a good deal.

I've been shooting the Miwall 44 mag and after 1000 rounds I had one dud and the rest were full power and of decent accuracy. 3/4ths was the JHP but the other 250 was TMJ and the dud was a JHP.

I also just bought 1000 rounds of American eagle 230 grain JHP 45ACP from Miwall at a gun show for $189 so in my opinion the Cabalas isn't a good deal esp. with shipping.

I’ve used the .357 and .38sp (Cabelas) so far 600 rounds of each and never had a misfire. It’s as accurate as any other brands I’ve shot. I usually buy it when I’m in Dundee so I don’t have the shipping charges. It used to come in the used steel ammo boxes but they’ve switched to new plastic sealable ammo boxes which are a nice xtra.
