Hi there! This is my first posting. My grandma recently passed away and this rifle was given to me. She got it about 30 years ago somewhere in the middle east where she was working at the time. Please let me know if I need to post more pictures or closeup ones of anything. Thanks in advance!!

Bedouin Type Rifle

Without better photos I'm guessing North African, as it seems a bit short for a Turkish rifle, and may not actually be genuine. Many copies were made during the 50s and 60s to sell to tourists. I would not attempt to fire the weapon.

Oh it's definitely not something that I would fire. I will get some more photos. Thank you!

Better Pictures

Here are some better pictures of the gun.

Kinda looks like a real one, which had been carried and used.

It might even be Loaded.

Figure out where the Flash Hole enters the Barrel, and take the Ramrod or other slender stick and check the depth it can go into the Bore to see.

Yep, pretty typical middle-eastern (possibly Indian) matchlock musket. There's often some of those listed on GunBroker, do a search for matchlock & you'll get an idea on value.

Indian or Burmise matchlock. Some of these made thrri way into Afganistan during the british fiasco there in the 1840s, but mostly tribal Indian sub-continent use. The give-away is the forward facing serpentine, and the stock configuration. These were copied in the Philipines during the "Insurrection", so it could also be from there but less likely.
