I got a LNIB ultra cdp for a new carry gun but it did not come with takedown instructions. Can anyone help? BTW I put 200 rounds thru her in the last 2 days no hickups yet. Shoots a little low with 230 ball and 230 rem hollowpoint value pack but thats no prob. I have wanted a little .45 for a long time. Now my Makarov will get lonely staying home.

Use the little L shaped wire

Lock back your slide and look for the small hole in spring guide use the L shaped wire through the hole. Let slide release. then pull spring Assy. forward. You don't have the L shaped wire make one from a paper clip. :)

1. Make a takedown tool from a heavy duty paperclip (use heavy duty ones only)
2. Lock back slide
3. Insert tool in hole in guide rod as shown in diagram
4. Push slide forward from the rear until slide stop lines up with half moon notch.
5. Remove slide stop
6. Remove slide.
7. Turn slide upside down
8. Remove guide rod, captured springs, and tool from the rear.
9. Remove barrel from the front.

Thanks for all your help guys got it apart and cleaned last night. Time for a couple more hundred rounds.

I'm on the fence right now about whether to go with a Colt Defender or Ultra Carry. It sounds like your first 200 rounds went very well, give us a range report on your next trip out.

One of the reasons I got rid of mine was becuase it was such a pain to takedown and put back together. Other than that, these things are real shooters.

Kimber Ultra CDP

Santa brought my wife one last Christmas. It has been 100% reliable, and is a joy for her to shoot. Would recommend Wilson Rogers Magazines and also consider a CT laser sight. All have worked very well for her

100 more Remington Value pack hollow point not a hickup.
I hear a lot of grousing about Kimbers but I love mine.
