Greetings, the UT club has one fixed-sight Ruger, and one adjustable sight. Clearly, for range/competition use, adjustable would be great.

I'm looking at the two, and it seems that the barrel-band on the adjustable is longer, and the front sight is taller. The rear dovetails look pretty similar.

Can I but a new adjustable rear and taller front, and swap them out?

Is it tricky trying to get a taller front sight into the smaller front barrel band on the fixed?

Both of these are the blued tapered 5" barrel types.

I just emailed Millet.

One of our range coaches thinks that the dovetails are different for fixed vs. adj Ruger MkIIs, but we're checking with Millet to be sure.

The front-sight pin-notch looks the same, but the actual barrel band that supports the notch isn't as long on the fixed as the adj, so we'll see if that makes a difference.

Can Millett adjustable Ruger MKll sights be swapped onto a fixed sight rug MKll?

Matthew Yes. the [fixed] dovetails are the same as the factory [adjustable]. The factory fixed
Ruger MK 1&2 will need to change the front. The adjustable model can use the factory front / Kirk

Straight from the horse's mouth. Hopefully this will save folks some digging in the future. Millett has a whole section of replacement front sights, and their chart shows four or five models specifically designed to replace the MkII fixed front sight for a taller one compatible with adjustable rear sights.

Score one for Millett.
