I'm looking to get a second, shorter, barrel for my Mavarik 88 to use as a Brush gun/home defense. I've tried using the 28in barrel, but its an absolute nightmare trying to manuvere it through dense forest. I want to be able to use different chokes and mount some sort of rifle sights. This criteria eliminates the 18 1/2 inch cylinder bore barrel. I found a 20in vented rib barrel which accepts choke tubes.

What are my options to improve the sight picture for slugs/buck shot use?

Thanks in advance

Williams makes a couple models of open sights that mount on vent ribs. Turkey hunters and those of us who use slugs like them. Not that costly either.

I believe Midway and Brownell's carry them. Cabela's and Bass Pro probably.

HTH....

I just looked at Williams Sights, thats exactly what I was looking for.

Fiber optic sights that mount on vented rib barrels and have windage ajustments for slugs!

Thanks for pointing me in their direction.:)

I ordered mine from Brownell's, about 10 years ago, and put them on just before a shotgun-only hunt in a state park. Haven't ever taken 'em off.
