:DSo after I got home from the live shoot ill admit I was exhausted and fell asleep. The next night I remembered I had a musket to clean. After all was said and done I ran out to the store. When I came home I couldnt help but notice a weird smell. No idea what it was. I could smell it from the basement so I went to investagate it:eek: It seems to have gotten worse the closer I got to the sink. Then it hit me. Sulpher. I cant believe I missed it. I need to rinse the sink better next time.:D

So that's what that weird smell was! I smelled it all the way over here on the northeast coast.

My first couple of times cleaning up from a day of shooting the Holy Black I was pretty disgusted with the smell. But by the end of the season of using my Remington clones in CAS matches I actually enjoy the smell of the cleaning. I guess it reminds me of peering through the clouds of smoke as I dispatch those dastardly steel curmudgeons that mean to do harm to my town.... :D

I've started spraying them down with Ballistol before bath time and it's reduces to odor 90% it seems. I did a pair of Dragoons the other day in the kitchen sink and not a word from the war department. Is it possible the egg salad at lunch masked the odor?

Sorry Ol Scratch actually smells like a mix of fruit loops and beef stew :D had to chase him away with a 51 and silver bullets blessed by the irish father. Anyways My drain backs up from time to time when the sink is overloaded so I think that attributed to the smell.

I don't think I've quite gotten the hang of cleaning my Remington just yet. It still smells faintly of charcoal after I clean it. But it doesn't rust and I like it, so I think I'll keep doing it that way!
