Carbide dies

Some straight-walled cases, even with a carbide sizing die, MUST be lubed - 30 carbine comes to mind.

Yep, the .30 Carbine case must be lubed when using carbide dies. I've been using one ever since they first came out with a carbide die in that caliber.

The .30 Carbine case is really a tapered case, but still straight walled for all intents and purposes.

I also lube .45 Colt cases for sizing in a carbide die, and sometimes 9x19 and .357 Magnum. I don't load that many .44 Magnum anymore, but when I do, they also get a light spray of case lube in a Ziploc bag and swished around. If you do lube them, let them dry before sizing and it will be a lot easier.

Hope this helps.
