This was posted on another hunting forum. Im posting on all hunting forums i am a member of and ask you to pass it along also.

NOAH Members should contact Fox Broadcasting, the company that airs American Idol, immediately.

They should be told that country music star Carrie Underwood’s rendition of “Home Sweet Home” isn’t so sweet for the millions of sportsmen who will be attacked by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) after they make money off the tune.

According to Carrie Underwood’s official website, the song is going to be used each week on the hit television show when a contestant is voted off.

Unfortunately, Underwood has made clear that a portion of the proceeds from subsequent sales of that song will go to benefit the largest anti-hunting organization in the nation, HSUS. This will give HSUS even more money to direct towards bowhunters, hunters, anglers, and trappers nationwide.

“Carrie Underwood has decided to use her talents to benefit an organization dedicated to destroying the rights of thousands of her fans,” said U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) senior vice president, Rick Story. “HSUS does not operate or oversee animal shelters; it is a radical organization that seeks to end hunting and other responsible uses of animals in America.”

Story said that sportsmen must send American Idol a strong message that its indirect support of HSUS, is not appreciated.

Sportsmen can make a difference. Companies such as Iams, General Mills, Accor Hotels, Pet Safe, Sears, Meijer Inc, and Ace Hardware ended relationships with HSUS after thousands of sportsmen levied strong protest.

Take Action! Sportsmen are urged to contact key personnel at American Idol’s parent company, Fox Broadcasting and demand that Underwood’s song not be given a stage to raise money for HSUS.

Damn. That's too bad, she's cuter 'n hell and the girl can sing. Looks like she came up short on brains, as I imagine she still hypocritically enjoys a good burger or steak on occasion......:banghead:

Supposedly she is a vegetarian

Actually worse from what I've heard. The local radio station reported she was vegan. That's even worse than a vegetarian.

But, like I said, this is hearsay. So it could be wrong.

There is NOTHING WRONG with being a vegetarian or vegan, mind you.

But contributing $$ to HSUS is another thing. Be a vegetarian all you like, but don't try to push your views on me, via HSUS. I'll be contacting.

Heck, I wouldn't even mind so much if she quietly, personally contributed to a cause she believes in, such as HSUS, *IF* she walks the walk, as she appears to (not eating meat) - I can respect that. But to make a specific promotion of the organization out of giving $$ to them from specific album sales allocation deserves a response, given that many many of her fans are hunters.

It's possible she doesn't even realize HSUS is so anti hunting. She probably just thinks she's helping the cute, cuddly little animals. Most people, especially celebrities, don't pay as much attention to things as we here do...

" Carrie recognizes that the stray problem is partly related to the spay/neuter issue. "A lot of people don't know how important it is to spay or neuter pets. That can cut down on the number of homeless pets." She also believes that the tragedy of so many stray pets is rooted in a lack of understanding about what it takes to make a lifetime commitment to an animal.

"Many people don't understand the responsibilities involved with getting a pet," she said. "They just see a cute puppy or kitten and get it. They don't realize that a pet is a commitment for as long as 10 or 20 years." "

Well said. We don't want to be judged for hunting and eating meat, so why judge others for their dietary choices?

Based on the HSUS link above, it sure sounds like she doesn't fully understand what it is they do.

Oh, and +1 on the Miranda Lambert comments :)

She right there with the Dixie Chicks in my book now.

+10!

Fame, stardom, money, makes good people do STUPID things. Unfortunately she'll end up learning the hard way with this.

Yes, Sportsmen can make a difference! Just as the Dixie Chicks learned. Turning on your president, turning on your fan base, will have impact on your record sales.

Don't get me started on Faith Hill now!

A lot of people confuse Humane Society of the United States (bad organization) with the American Humane Society (good organization) which is precisely the reason HSUS puke purposely and deceptively named their organization.

I wish the Hollyweird/entertainment types would stop feeling guilty about all the money they suddenly make and stop donating to leftist causes to absolve their guilt.

One thing that holds for both PETA and HSUS is that they've become far more clever in their mail-out propaganda. They give the appeaarance of doing the same sort of good works as the local animal shelters, for instance. They speak of working against "animal abuse"--but without making it clear that any sort of use of any animal is defined by them as abuse. That includes having pets.

Folks like us use the dictionary when defining words like "abuse" or "cruelty" or "exploitation". PETA and HSUS have completely different dictionaries.

So it is that many good hearted, well meaning people contribute to them or work with them, not realizing the truth of the situation.

When you run across some article about an individual's connection to any organization, it's best to do some checking further before blasting them.

Thank you, stevelyn, I think that's exactly it - that's how they duped her - hurts a good organization like AHS.

So be gentle in your correspondence, but just explain the facts to her calmly.

Bill O'Rielly named her a patriot in his pinheads and patriots segment for donating to the HSUS. We need to e-mail him as well and let him know what the HSUS is all about.

If she knows what they do, to heck with her. Hopefully, (and I imagine) she is not fully aware of the organizations real agenda and will pull out when she is informed.

I volunteer to have as my special guest at the H&H reeducation camp. She is a bad girl and she needs a spanking. ;)
