am wondering on the existence of converter units that allow for the use of 45 colt ammunition in a 45-70 single shot rifle.

am considering a trapdoor springfield in the future, and woult like to know a chamber adaptor exists.

Just want to add that it if one does exists, you might run into accuracy issues or leading if you use lead bullets. Most .45 Colt ammo uses a .451 or .452 bullet but the .45-70 uses a .458.

Even an oldstyle .454" .45 Colt would not shoot well in a Trapdoor whose barrels are more often over .458" than at or under the nominal groove diameter.

Don't fall into the Internet Trap of buying big and shooting small.
The .45-70 is a well known round and you can make it run right.
