Hi all,

I've been reloading since 1978, but only straight wall cases.
I have decided to start reloading for .223 and 7.5mm Swiss.
I was thinking of getting RCBS's manual case trimmer kit and an attachment to hook up to a power drill. I can get the kit and the attachment from Midway for about 110.00 including shipping.
I'd like some reviews on this case trimmer. I tried searching but kept getting an error. Thanks for any info.

Joe

Either the RCBS or the Lyman manual case trimmer will serve you well and both do a great job. I have had a Lyman for over 25 years and have only had to replace a cutting head once(i wore it out). If you are going to do large amounts of rifle cases, you may want to consider an electric trimmer. Again, they are all basically the same. Good loading!

Ditto what loadedround said about the Lyman universal trimmer, took about 25 yrs.to do in my first cutter. Easy to set up , universal shell holder , just buy the pilots you need. Clamp or bolt it down though as it will chatter.

For only two calibers, you might consider the Lee caliber-specific trimmers.

That's what I have finally settled on for .223 in large volume.

I chuck the shell holder up in my lathe, and use a hex-drive screwdriver handle to run the pilot & cutter in & out.

I can trim them way faster then when I was using my old Forster trimmer with a drill attached.
