I’ve started to see some of this around in stores and wondered if anyone has tried it in a SW22 Victory? I had some low powered match rifle ammo that would not cycle from my rifle but cycled perfectly from my Victory. I thought maybe the Quiet Semiauto would too. My lever action 22 is my rifle of choice for this type of low noise ammo so I’m searching for a handgun to go with it. If the Victory won’t I may have to get a revolver to match the lever action.

CCI was multiple flavors of quiet .22 ammo. There is one specifically for semi-autos. It's rated at 835 FPS, I believe. The regular quiet ammo is 710 FPS. The 710 FPS stuff won't cycle in the vast majority of guns. The 835 FPS stuff should work in most. They also have "supressor" ammo which I haven't tried but runs a 45 grain coated bullet at 1000 FPS. That should work in most semi's also.

FWIW Standard velocity is rated at 1070 FPS.

When this first hit quite a while back I bought a couple boxes to see what would happen. In 2 Ruger MK's it of course would not cycle the slide but, it did not cause jams either. The bolt would just not open enough to do anything. So just hand cycled it each time. It was quiet. I was at my indoor range and had the place to my self so I took the plugs out. It was not loud enough to be bothered by it. The next thing I noticed was in both of the pistols it was shockingly accurate. I was just playing around at first for noise level. The pistols seemed to love it. Was shooting groups with open sights that looked close to what my old eye's do with optics. First thing that came to me was this would be grand for those who want "pest control" and live where its legal to shoot them but, neighbors are close enough that they do not want to annoy them. Especially if its at night.

The fps is not the whole story. The bullet weight (45) used in the 835 stuff also has an important effect. The 835 stuff operates my Mark 1, and my 10/22.

So it sounds promising. It is kinda pricey but there seems a decent chance it will work. I have a few dozen of the regular Quiet rounds but I doubt they’ll work. I have one rifle that will cycle the standard velocity stuff and one that won’t. I saw a write up that said the QS rounds would cycle a Semiauto that will run the standard velocity stuff. The rifle and Victory might also cycle the Quiet Semiauto. Of course the lever action will cycle anything. This is mostly for novelty/tinkering and if the rats come back to the back yard, but for now my dog is pretending to be a cat.

I can't speak to a S&W Victory, but .... I like the CCI Quiet for a suppressed bolt gun. In that situation, it's ridiculously, stupid quiet. However, when I put the suppressor on my 22/45, the Quiet doesn't cycle them well. I don't think I've tried it without my suppressor.

Edited: I initially said it wouldn't cycle my 10/22, but I don't think I've actually tried CCI Quiet in my 10/22, so I took that out.

The stuff I have will not work my Ruger MKIIl it becomes a single shot - but they work great in my S&W revolver.............;)

So a mixed bag of Quiet Semiauto cycling Semiautos? It’s still worth the price of one box to find out if I can find it again.

I regularly shoot the Aguila Colibri or Super Colibri but they won’t cycle my Marlin 60 or Ruger SR22. They are ridiculously quiet but I’m looking for something that will cycle and is quiet enough to still shoot in the yard. I have been looking at the CCI quiet and will give them a try if I can find any. The Aguila work fine in a revolver, but it doesn’t have the accuracy of the others.

I wont cycle my buckmark, but ran all my .22 rifles fine....I may have to try the 10" barrel to see if it creates more back pressure.

Quiet Semiauto is meant to cycle semis, standard CCI Quiet can't. I've tried it in every semi auto I have and it doesn't have the ability.

i bought a bunch of cci 22lr quiet recently because i enjoy rimfire handgun shooting and quiet was available cheaply in quantity from the cci website. the other day i took some to the shooting range with a ruger bearcat, lcr and sr22. quiet shot fine out of the sr22 as long as i cycled the action by hand, obviously no issue with the two revolvers. i did notice that the quiet was less accurate than cci standard (decent) or cci minimag (laser-like) ammo.

Been a while but I found some more and tried the Quiet Semiauto in my Victory pistol and it cycles so far. I haven’t used but about half a magazine but they shot accurately and no failures with fairly rapid firing.

Did not cycle in: 10-22, Colt Woodsman, Ruger MkII, or Walther PPKS. I use either a 10" Contender (really quiet) or a Savage 24, or my Smith 63.
