CCW, need carry options for a S&W 64

Unfortunately, my 64 is 50 miles away in Tuscaloosa, and I will not be going back until May 15 after my last exam..... but I will definitely post up pictures once I get back home (at Birmingham-Southern College right now).

I'm real proud so far, not skimping on the belt and holster. Now eargerly awaiting my phone call from the sherrifs office for my permit!

That's one of the many reasons I chose a community college and for what I'm going for (computer integrated machining) there's not much reason to go four years.

I also think there might be a slight typo on the Don Hume holster model listed above. It's actually the H721-OT. I've got several of that model myself and those are a good deal for the money.

Now that Don Hume won't sell to the public any more, I get all mine from Gunner's Alley. http://www.gunnersalley.com.

Over the years, mine have held up suprising well, and only require a quick once over with shoe polish to keep the leather clean and moisturized. I've just about got 1 H721-OT for every pistol I routinely carry.

Yay! Should've ordered a larger belt though, but I have a decent belt that is longer that will now serve, plus it matches the holster.

I've always been a fan of DeSantis holsters. They have a model named the Mad Max which is an IWB holster which will carry a 4" S&W K revolver very well.

They had over a dozen other IWB holster models too if you don't like that model. I like the quality DeSantis puts out without charging extremely high prices.

If you're going to wear that holster OWB, I'd recommend running the belt behind the gun. That will allow the "wings" with the belt slots to pull in closer to your body and smooth out the profile of the holster. Wearing it as shown in your pictures will cause the belt slots to stick out.

Notice that the picture is the back side of a left handed holster with straps for IWB.

I recommend a good OWB leather holster and a light overgarment.

Yeah, sometime I need to order a good 1.75" belt. Right now I have a 1.25" belt.....

Bullhide Belts makes dress-style gun belts in 1.25" sizes. Not terribly cheap, but they do stand up.
