I bought a CAI side by side 12 gague coach shotgun about 6 months ago and recently the right side has been experiencing light primer strikes, resulting in failure to fire :cuss:. The model I have has exposed hammers. It previously has worked well with about 300 shells through it. I have thoroughly cleaned the firearm without improvement. I'm not sure if this would be a problem with a weak spring or something else. The left side functions without problems, and I don't see anything wrong or abnormal with the firing mechanism on the right side as compared to the left side. Any good ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm sure I'll get some well-deserved flak about buying a cheap chinese shotgun :scrutiny:. I did not buy it for home defense, I only use it for recreational shooting.

Wow, failures in CAI guns are rare!

Have you changed ammo brands? Some primers are "harder" than others, although it is less pronounced with shotgun primers. I'd be willing to bet you're on the right track with a spring losing its....ummm....springiness. The other item to check would be the firing pin. Make sure it hasn't broken or worn down. I'm not familiar with their coach guns, but if you could get both pins out and compare the working one with the non-working you, it could be instructive.

Nope, no flack - but did you really expect it to last as long as it did???? :D

And now, you're not able to recreate........
