I am looking for a cheap red dot primarily for use on my 10/22 or possibly my Mini-14. I have searched around, and it seems that the Millet red dot and the Bushnell Trophy red dot are both good choices. Which one should I go for? Are there any better sub-$100 red dots out there?

Thanks.

I have a millet on my super redhawk 44 mag, it's a great unit. However I recently ordered another one for my muzz, and the thing was junk. It was like they put an extra dark coating on the lense so you could barely see through it even in broad daylight. I sent it back. Probably just a fluke, but I didn't bother getting a replacement. If you have a place that stocks them locally and you can check them out in person that might be best. I like the scope I have.

For plinking though I do have one of these bad boys and it is simply awesome. I put it on my browning buckmark and it's sweeeeet. Wouldn't trust it on a deer gun, but I have yet to have a problem on my pistol. It's a lot of fun. I think I found one for cheaper than this, it is available under many brands, the sightmark seemed pretty professional to me.

I've had good luck with the truglo 30mm red dot. it doesn't seem to wander like the $30 tasco did. the truglo goes on sale occasionally. I got one from midway for $40 back in early January.

The Primary Arms red dots seem to be holding up pretty well. Most of them are sub $100.00 I believe. Might want to give them a look.

highorder, thanks for the link. Judging by the numerous positive reviews, I think I will go with one of those.
