I amconsidering buying some magazine from these guys, but they dont take credit cards over the web, I am nervous sending anyone a money order and HOPING they send me some product. anyone done bussiness with these folks?

Thanks, I think ill pass, but I just spent about two hours searching for a particular magazine and they are the only ones who had it in stock. Ill keep looking.

I have a whole pile of magazines I was going to get rid of. If anybody wants SOF, Guns, Special weapons, Accurate rifle, etc. Some SOF and Survival magazines go back to the mid 80's. I will accept $40 for the pile or trade for gun stuff.

I went to their sight and it has online shopping so why can"t you use a credit card? I also noticed under "contact" there isn't a phone number and that isn't good. Mark

cheapgunmagazines.com

I'm not too pleased with them. I bought 2 8-round all metal SW 3900 magazines from them at a gunshow last week, after giving them the once over and getting the booth guy's assurances that they would work in my SW 3906, and that I could return them if they didn't work.

Well, they're about 1/16" away from working but end result is I can't use them. I pulled out the credit card receipt and these guys have a mailing address in Sebastian FL but no phone number (and the business name doesn't match the name 'cheapgunmagazines.com' like their booth sign said either). I've used their website several times to find out how to return these things for exchange or refund, and gotten back zilch. The 30 day return clock is ticking. They do not put a mailing address or phone number on their website.

Unless they surprise me, as far as I'm concerned they stole my money and lied to me. I won't tell you what to do, but I'm not having a good time with them.

Anyone wanna buy a couple of SW 3900 mags cheap? They're just $40 paperweights to me as it stands.

If you paid by credit card and the merchandise is shoddy or otherwise not as advertised, write a letter to your credit card company and dispute the charge. You have 60 days from the date of purchase to do this. They will immediately credit your account for the amount and "charge back" the vendor's account. Its the consumer's tactical nuke, and the reason the 3% extra you end up paying when using a credit card is definitely worthwhile when doing business outside your locale.

They've gone to bat for me on several occasions with computer stuff that did not work as advertised.

Thanks for the tip, Wally.

I started to do that today and realized I made a booboo, and confused the receipt for the mags with something else (the receipt from the cheapgunmagazines.com booth still wasn't labelled with that name, but I got the phone number from the credit card company).

I talked to the guy who answered their phone this afternoon, and he grumbled a bit but did say 'ok' to giving me a refund. So, I have an address from him for a return (Land 'O Lakes FL) and will give that a try. If I run into problems, as you say I'll dispute the charge with the credit card company. I'm glad to hear that works as well as it has for you, I've never had to go that far before.

So, I may have to take back what I said about these folks, I'll come back for a serving of crow if/when it turns out I was wrong.

I see those guys at the gun shows all the time. It is all cheap, unmarked knock-off type stuff. I have never bought from him and I do not think I ever will. Since a good magazine is arguably the most important part of a magazine fed, semi-automatic weapon find ways to save money on quality magazines.

cheapgunmagazines.com Update on my experience

Good news to report, I did mail back the mags that didn't work, and cheapgunmagazines.com did credit the charges back (per my credit card company). So, to be fair, in the end they did deal fairly.

I was a little worried about that happening, b/c the name of the company on the CC receipt was "DW Fowler and Associates" instead of "cheapgunmagazines.com" like the sign on their booth said. My lesson learned: if I buy any more aftermarket mags at a show, I'm not doing it unless I have the firearm in question with me and can try it out right there at the booth with a snap cap.
