Would you trust your life with the chip mccormick power plus 10 round 1911 mags i've recently read that some people have had problems with the mags feeding hollow points and even ball rounds in the 10 round mag i have never used mccormick mags but i am looking for 10 round 1911 mags for my sig 1911 xo. Which i load with ranger t series 230 grain hollow points with no problem in factory 8 round mags so i would like to hear from people who use or have used these power plus mags and some pics would be nice too

Some periods would be nice, as well. :)

My CMC 10 rounders run fine. I only use them in competition, though. For home defense I run factory Colt 8-round magazines.

You want a 10 round mag in the pistol? Or in your pocket for a reload?

If you're thinking you can walk around comfortably with a full size 1911 on your hip AND a 10-round mag sticking out of it, you're a better man than I. :)

SORRY ABOUT THE PERIODS I AM LOOKING FOR A 10 ROUND MAG FOR CONCEALED CARRY.

It's not uncommon for the ten rounders to have feeding issues in some pistols. Do a search, and you'll find some threads on it. I'm guessing that the rounds may tend to feed at a slightly different angle due to the different amount of force pushing up on the follower. If that is the case, then ramped vs unramped barrels may help/worsen the situation. I'd call 8 rounders the max for carry, personally, but YMMV. If you do buy some ten rounders, at least prove their function with a lot of rounds downrange before toting them.

Surely he means a reload. I hope.

I use ChipM Powermags in all of my M1911s, but only the 8-rounders. These have been well-regarded by people I respect and I've never experienced any problems with them firing any number of FMJ, EFMJ and JHPs.

I wouldn't use 10-round mags for a SD gun for the simple reason that they don't seat flush in the pistol. That could be a problem if you fell or dropped the gun, and it sure would stick out for carry.

As all guns differ, you will need to test your choice of ammo+mags+pistol to see how reliable they work for you.

With any 1911 mag, test it well with any ammo you are going to use for SD. Some guns like mags that others dont. Test your mags with your gun with your chosen ammo.

None of my business what you want to carry, just make sure it works for you.

^What that guy said.

I have a couple of the Chip 10 round mags and I really like them, zero failures in my Springfield.

I run two McCormick 10 rounders in my CCU from Mech-tech. Never a problem. I never considered running them in my handguns, and they would be tough to conceal.

Run on sentences, the lack of capital, and no punctuation, all make it hard to read/understand a post. No sense getting mad at folks for pointing it out. The better you get your message across, and the more people that read it, give you the best chance of getting good answers.

Help the fellows out. :)

I've been using CMC 10 rounders for years in my full size Colts and SAs without any mag failures.

I do not use them as the mag for initial concealed carry for the reason suggested by 1KPerDay, instead I use the CMC 8 round Power Mag.

However, I do use them as spare mags without hesitation. I especially like that they protrude beyon the mag well and afford not only the extra 2 rounds, but also that the extension makes seating the mag more positive when you're in a hurry...Doc

I carry to 10 rounders in a mag pouch with an 8 rounder in the gun, I've never had any problems with the ten rounders. But ymmv, try em' if they work use em'.
