What is the favorite choke you use on these little winged evaders and what size shot? Probably opening a can of worms here but just wondering how others around the country hunt these birds
Modified. 71/2 shot. Heavy field loads.
Another option is to take a vintage double barrel that originallly had 30" tubes and get a gunsmith to cut them down to 26", and then impress your friends with how you dove shooting improves.
I hunt a lot of flushing birds. I use a cheap Stoeger 12ga side by side, 26" barrels, fairly light, two triggers, two chokes..... IC 1st barrel, modified 2nd. Shoot either at any time.
This combination has worked so well, I haven't hunted these birds with anything else for years.
