Out of interest I tried chronographing my Ruger Old Army - sadly the smoke cloud always seemed to trigger the chronograph and give false readings.
Other than putting the chronograph down near the target (and increase the chance I turn the chrony into the target
), is there some clever trick I'm missing to do this nearer the gun ?
