Coated bullets and scraping

These won't work?

I forgot to mention for the powder through expander type dies, I use with a Lee pro disk.
I've pushed the angle back on one to create a step but it breaks thru the case hardening, still works though.
And the die body needs to be re-set deeper when doing that.
Thought about putting a bushing on top of the expander instead of lowering the die, but haven't tried that (yet).

I suppose I could make a stepped expander with the proper lengths but I'd rather buy one as my lathe is a cheap piece of crap.
I've seen after market expanders (powder funnels) sold for Dillon dies that are bronze or some such alloy rather than steel, so I guess CRS would work without case hardening.
Anyone with a cnc lathe could knock them out of CRS quickly/cheaply for the common calibers, but with a complete Lee die selling for less than $12, I don't see any money to be made.
Sorry for typing/day dreaming all that,
:D

Been making them for years. It appears that they stopped making the powder through versions, I wonder why

Oops, simul-posting with Walkalong.

Thanks for the heads up on NOE.
I sent an email to NOE about M type expanders for Lee Powder thru expander dies with an explanation about working for coated bullets.
I will post any responses I get,
:D

I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say also.

While I've been very happy with my Lyman and Redding expanders...as well as my Hornady powder measure...having the availability of these expanders for the Lee would make adding several Auto Drum measures more attractive. Of course, then I'd have to forsake my Redding dies...at least, the Sizer and the Expander
