College in Sac, take or leave

I've lived in Sacramento all my life except 4 years military 18 years on Sac P.D. Now is the best climate for a Sacramento County CCW. Before now you had to know the Sheriff ( contribute to campaign) The new Sheriff admits they can't be there all the time and has made it a lot friendlier to get a CCW. However I don't know about an out of state student.

I am glad they have changed things there. That is one of the funny things I always thought about this subject. Where I live, getting a CCW is not much more difficult then getting a perscription filled. Yet, to be honest, I live in an area where a "real" need to be armed is questionable. Folks that live in areas that really should be armed for their safety couldn't get a CCW. I guess common sense is finally prevailing there.

Of course, the handgun you chose as your CCW carry in California has to be on their approved list. We don't have any such lists.:D

Actually that isn't true either, but I suspect, from the form of your sentence, that you knew that...just didn't want to leave folks who didn't really know with the wrong impression

hey anyone know if i could take that wasr-10 in the state, taken apart? had some problems with midwayUSA and i wont be able to get everything until im out there

I'm not too familiar with AK rifles. How do they strip?
If you remove any evil features: flash hider, pistol grip, folding or collapsible stock, forward grip, you should be good to go.
With an AR rifle, if you split the upper from the lower receiver that's okay too.

considering all the "California" nonsense i endure, my turn>> Sac? UGGG!!! move!

long guns are no big deal, but you are probably not able to import the big mags. I should know this better for all the reading ive done- we use my buddy's pre ban 13s all the time, and no one is ever going to ask you about them BUT i am fairly sure you can not import them legally. You are allowed to keep what you had here pre ban but no more (not 100% on this but 90% sure)

I would look into the pre ban ownership because it is remotely possible even the rifle is OK, and given that it does not need to be registered, who's asking anyway? As long as you are not caught buying or selling a pre ban weapon, you ARE allowed to have and use it here

Don't guess, be sure...read the flowchart attached below from post #6
See also the Calguns AW ID flowchart. (.pdf)

cmon man, guess ? i put this in there for a reason>>>

I would look into the pre ban ownership
and gave as much as i knew for a fact. ANYONE who takes info here at face value without double checking is not being very smart

son of a Mother looking over that flowchart is not fun/ and right, i neglected the important fact that he pre ban weapons had to have been registered pre ban. NOTICE anything that was reg'd pre ban is OK anything not reg'd pre ban, well depends if "the law" knows you have it, they might come take it and importing any sort of banned weapon is obviously going to be a problem

I feel extremely lucky to have made a very good friend who was here owning all this stuff (registered) long before i even got here.

Also, bear in mind that being in possession of a non-registered AWB named rifle or one which does not conform to the current law is a felony...you could lose your rights to own any firearm in any state
