Are we doing shotguns and clays again?
You betcha!

(Note to self: get in the basement and load some 28 ga ammo.)

Sandy wants to make a batch of her famous green chili again this year. The crops are looking great, but early! Our tomatoes may or may not last until the get together.

Billll, one of the cops who showed up two years ago (JC Williams, the big, high speed low drag guy) is picking up trophies this Friday for his little baseball team. He wanted to know if he's invited. Of course, I invited him.

WYO, looking forward to seeing Madison again. What an outstanding young man!

This might actually work. I'll pencil it in. Don't have a shotgun that i'd show in front of you guys, but I might find something worth bringing

I definately have to make one of these. Missed the last two.

Thanks, Larry. He's looking forward to it! Let us know what we can bring.

This years event has some new "attractions".

Larry, just sit still and work with me here will ya?

PINK above ground swimming pool event: That'll will be Sadie getting water-logged and shrivel-skinned in da pool. This event consists of who can get her out of the pool.
My money is on Sadie wanting to shoot a Pink Cricket. [hint...hint...hint]

Blackpowder Event. Ya'll bring yer cannons. Idea is to get enough smoke rising to get the Fire Dept to show up. I mean Larry & Co. already know how to get the Police to show up...

Bring 7 irons and cut up golf balls - "Poor Man's Live Pigeon Event".

Idea here is - Someone hits the golf ball - and shooter has to fell it within a certain distance.

Seven Iron vs Shotgun

Brister Event Yeah, ya gonna shoot ping pong balls with BB guns.

:)

Steve, LOL. We'll call the Sadie event the "Catch the pink frog" event. :)

What kind of guns? Well, I only have a small pistol berm in the back yard, so we limit it to handgun cartridges and rimfires, but if you have something really cool to show off, bring it and we'll shoot it into the bottom of the berm. We did that four years ago with Labgrade's .309 JDJ hand cannon.

I have a good size field for clay shooting, and a couple throwers.

One thing... If you see BozemanMT with a hand clay thrower, HIT THE DIRT! :p

Ohhhh, now that hurts
probalby not nearly as much as me smacking ya in the head with a clay, but still. :p

I don't remember smacking anyone, did I?
it could have happend, I guess I won't have ot throw and I can only shoot, darn.

What's considered really cool?

Heck, I'll be there with bells on—and clothes, too.
Oh thank God ... if you ever do decide to run around nekked, make sure you leave the bell on so we get some warning that you're comming. :neener:

(not that anyone wants to see me au natural either :uhoh: )

Couple of updates:

The pistol range is flooded with all the rain and runoff from the gulley above. I'm trying to mow it today, but not having much luck. Bring rubber boots if you got 'em.

Bring OFF! The skeeters are bad this year.

If you have a small game license, bring it. The doves are thick this year. My son and his brother in law got 27 last evening.

The chile crop is really good this year. We put up 108 pints of salsa in the last two days. If anybody wants a bushel or two of fresh roasted chiles, we can fix you up. In fact, I may be able to get a "THR discount". ;)

Larry
Just talking to Justin and he reminded me that this next sat the 9th was the get together at your place.

I will be shooting in the pueblo west club highpower championship that day. It should be done by around noon I believe.
Since I will be down in pueblo I might stop by.

If you could send me some directions by email and the time you will start and what do I need to bring as far as food let me know.
Thanks jon

rain?
what is this rain thing you refer to?

what time?
What can we bring?

does this mean the pistol range is closed???????

does this mean the pistol range is closed???????

Gee Whiz Brian, do I have to all the figuring out via long distance? :p

Larry has a big truck. Sit in Larry's truck and shoot pistols. While Larry "backs the truck up" so foks don't get muddy and all...all that spent brass can be scooped up in the bed of the truck.

Don't tell me you never changed targets out of the bed of truck before?

Larry pulls forward again and shooting resumes.

This ain't rocket science, ya'll need anything else figured out, just holler out...:D

Anybody else need directions?

What to bring... Drinks, soda (Squirt is always popular), water, whatever you like to drink. (The host drinks Michelob, after the shooting is over. ;) ) Ice is always needed.

I got the pistol range mostly mowed yesterday. The shooting area is dry. Just a big puddle between there and the targets. We can work around that.

Larry..

need directions again..hoping to be able to break free and get by..

I know you out 50east..but that's about it..

Hope I can join you all next year; this looks like a lot of fun. This weekend I'll be touring the western slope on rented Harleys with some friends from out-of-state.

Larry and others, it's looking kinda grim this instant, because of two projects that got dumped in my lap this week. My son was really looking forward to it, because he got a new over/under after spending two weeks at Whittington Center, and he wanted to shoot it with Mr. and Mrs. BozemanMT.

Ratspit.

Mainly due to the weather (but also some other stuff) I am going to be toiling in the salt mines this weekend.

My regards to everyone, and I hope the weather clears out so y'all can have some fun.

Looks like the weather is going to be uncooperative:
SATURDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY. CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE MORNING...
THEN CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS NEAR 70.
NORTH WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 40 PERCENT.
From: http://www.cameracraft.com/cozmo.html

Oh, well. Maybe good enough for some shooting in the middle of the day and a social event in the afternoon. Can't be as bad as the first year though.
