Ive had this pistol awhile. It was given to me and info ive found is it was made in 1917 or 18.Its in ok shape cosmetically maybe 80% but someone tried to rub the property stamp off.:cuss: Relvolver hammer, laynyard hoops frame and clip. Very innacurate but never misfires or jams. I dont actually put through its paces any more. Its not rare but I am looking for a great reference online place to check barrel Marks and the other proof marks and what they all stand for. 20 years ago an NRA instructor saw me trying to hit with it and gave me a heads up on what I had. I knew it came from a Friends uncle who did serve in Korea. Whether that pistol came from him during his service is unreliable as they both were always buying and selling. Thanks for a link to some good trustworthy info.
EDIT!
That # slightly off 406x65

Gotta bring us some photos, man! Nice, clear, sharp ones from a camera please, no dang phone pics. Those are awful. And there's no way that has a revolver hammer on it, where'd you hear that?

Heres a picture. Looks like 60% now. I just searched coolgunsite. They had lots of info on early 1911s. The person that owned this(long.. before me or friends) was more worried about armorer stamps than ser#s. I do have h p on the barrel. This thing may have just been put together with scrap parts in the early 80s.
