Colt Commander or Combat Commander?

I have narrowed it down to the commander XSE and the combat commander XSE I am wanting tour pros and cons to each (besides the weight). I am leaning towards the combat commander but I heard that the commanders are more accurate

I don't think you'd notice any accuracy difference between the two pistols.

In current Colt production there is the XSE Commander and the XSE Lightweight Commander.

The Lightweight Commander (aluminum frame model) is what the Commander used to be. The current Commander (steel frame) in the line-up is what the Combat Commander used to be. Kind of confusing.

I've never been an XSE fan, mostly due to the odd "duckbill" grip safety they used. It was my least favorite grip safety of all the many varieties used in 1911's. However, it seems as if they have stopped using them and gone to a beavertail for the XSE line-up. Probably a carry over from the new Combat Elite.

My choice for a Colt Commander though, has always been the model #04691, blue steel Commander.

I have a Combat Commander XSE. It is my favorite semiauto and is very accurate for me. Not sure why there would be any accuracy differences between a lightweight and an all steel version. I have never shot or handled any variation of the lightweight commanders, so I can't comment on differences in performance.

It's impossible to predict the accuracy of a given off-the-rack autopistol. You may get one that defies the laws of physics, and an identical pistol...even consecutively numbered...may not stay on a pie plate at 50 yards.

Accuracy potential should be the same. The all steel will probably hold up to more rounds fired. That is the only difference besides weight and comfort of carry.
