Colt New Service 44

This New Service 44 is the transition with new hammer block AND retained stovepipe bbl. (without the hump at frame conection). Limited production with known numbers but is there any significant collector value ? Also original bbl is marked 44, not 44 WCF. See my problem ??

Not much info to go on, and I'm no expert on these, but first off I would want to firmly establish correct caliber.

Could be a .44 Russian, or .44 Special, or .44WCF (44-40).

I have seen some 44-40 new services up here in canada, they seem to fetch a premium price here in canada because they supposedly slip through some loophole in the registration rules because of the caliber. They go for about 2000bucks instead of the 500-1000 one in a different caliber sells for.
I can't recall what the barrel was marked.
