In case you missed it over at Coltforum, here's my brother's Colt 1908, with miniturized Novak & ivory. :D

It was a gun with little finish, and a few blems that I sanded out. Then a local gunsmith gave it a go to install the Novak, and dovetail in a tiny ramp front, that he serrated. He trimmed down the Novak all around, to make it "scale" to the gun. I sighted it in, trimming down the front sight to bring it to point of aim, in the white. Then I sent the gun to Bill Adair in TX, who case hardened the trim, and bright blued the slide and frame. The mastodon grips were made from slabs I sent to Michael Poulin. I did change out the springs with Wolff springs, and it shoots fine. I gave it to my brother, and I don't think he has fired it yet. It had no functioning problems during the time I had it.

That is really neat, how much better does it shoot now that it has better sights?

When I sighted it in, I got 3-4 in groups at 20 yards. It is just like sighting a .45 now. .25's are generally more accurate than people would imagine. The sights are the hindrance. It is kind of cool to hit or move pop cans more often than not with a .25 alongside bigger guns.

I've been shooting my Taurus PT-22 at longer and longer ranges, not shooting for groups yet but just bouncing around spent shotshells and pieces of clay birds, that kind of thing, it is a ton of fun stretching a tiny pistol out.

Seems kind of counter productive to have such a small weapon and add sights to it that can make smooth concealment easier.Unless of course its more for shooting than carrying. My CZ vz45 as gutter sights which i cant making an aim shot with past 21'

Just don't tell anyone if you plan on carrying it as a bug, even then people say a .25 is worthless.

It came with tiny sights from Colt. They are complete and total tack drivers; if you unload a mag of .25ACP into an attacker, all the rounds will hit the same spot if you half-way do your job. On the other hand, 5 rounds of .357 from a S&W 340 (scandium) will be all over the place unless you are really good.

I use any and all brands of ammo in my .25's....they all work. I've never heard anyone say that the installation of Novak type sights has slowed them up much on the draw.....these little sights don't add much bulk to a gun that fits in ANY pocket (almost fits in the watch pocket of some jeans). This little Colt is capable of giving odds and taking money from people that don't know how accurate mouse guns can be.

A tiny pocket gun like that that can shoot 4" 20 yard groups? Hell yeah I'd want REAL sights on it! And, you can't get much smoother, no snag sights than Novaks.

Yeah, well, depends on the gun. I carried this RG for years..... LOL A quality gun, you're likely right, and .25 is FAR more reliable in a small gun than .22LR! It has its serious uses.

I like that in the same sentence as he questioned the point of putting mini sights on a mini gun, he says he can't make an aimed shot past 21' with his own mini gun.

That is fine machining work on both the sights and the installation (which requires a stepped groove for the rear). If one didn't know better, one might assume it was factory.

Recently, I picked up this sweet little Beretta Jetfire. Nine rounds of reliable SAO quick reset, extremely concealable 25acp. Got a 45 at home and a 40 in the car, but this little baby fits in the pocket (or the ankle) real well.

Truth be told, any projectile striking you going about 800 feet a second will cause you to have a bad day or even kill you if you get hit in the right place with it.

I've had one of these for years and I love it. Great to slip in a pocket for a late-night dog walk, especially with coyotes out and about.

Now you just knew this was going to raise an old man's curiosity!

Is them coyotes two legged or four legged?........:what:

Stunning resto.....love the grips. Perfect for a night out at the opera, wouldn't you say?

Well im glad to see a positive .25 thread where people are NOT bashing the round.even when you tell them its a backup to a bug.

Here is a pic of mine, some people may have seen this before as i am pretty proud of it.

Mine just has gutter sights, but even still i can do decent groups at 21' but definitely not 20 yards.
I gotta admit thats one solid looking .25,and im betting you would never get rid of it?

Actually, I gave it as a gift to my brother. He is a machinegunner/assualt rifle guy, so it just seemed perfect. I am curently trying to work up a more wicked looking Colt 25, perhaps with checkered front strap, Novaks, and parkerized finish & walnut grips. By the way, that CZ is beautiful. Was that the VERY first DA auto made, even before the Walther PP?
