Concealed Carry Revolvers

Based upon your criteria for a well balanced carry gun with power, a prelock S&W K-Frame in 357 Magnum with 2.5" or 3" barrel would be a very good choice. The Alaskan is a great gun, but most people want to carry a smaller gun.

There is an article by Charles Petty in the current issue of Handloader, "Compact Versus Full Size: The Cost of Small."

The article compares compact automatics to full size, but he closes it with a paragraph that I consider absolutely brilliamt:

Quote:
It would be remiss of me not to mention how the issue of size and weight impact the revolver. Here size had not been reduced, but advances in material science have made it possible to reduce customary weights of steel revolvers by more than 50 percent and change .357 Magnum recoil from merely unplesant to positively brutal.

Having purchased a S&W Scandium 357 snub, I can vouch for the "brutal" part. I didn't believe it until I tried it for myself. Not too bad with practice ammo, but full blown self defense ammo...well "brutal" describes it pretty well.

Ok, I get it!

Ok, I get it, I need to get one at a time:
a ruger LCR 357
and a 44Mag RH 4"brl.

Yes?
