I'm generally satisfied with my CRKT Hissatsu folder, but I'm interested in a similar fixed-blade knife for carry at work. I was perusing Amazon for similar products, but I'm not sure I can get something of the same size and blade configuration that clips as easily to my ABU pants.

So before I take a chance on another product, does anybody make a Kydex sheath for the Hissatsu folder? My Googling efforts fell short.

Probably not a commercial production one, but I'm sure any custom kydex sheath maker could do this for you.

Does it have to be kydex? Look at any folding knife or magazine carrier to see if it would fit your needs.

Here's something neat for pocket carry.

Looks at James Williams Yukanto fixed blade.

I apologize, I neglected to state that I want to carry it with the blade deployed.

Ok definitely not available as production, unless you were to select a "universal" fixed blade sheath and use that. Though I have never found one that I like. So the choice is: similarly styled fixed blade, like the Yukanto or James Williams other Japanese-inspired CRKT knives, or get a custom sheath, which in my experience are not that expensive but it depends on the maker and the bells and whistles the sheath has. I would recommend but my go-to closed down a few years ago.

Thank you, the feedback is appreciated. I was hovering over the "add to cart" button on Amazon for the Yukanto yesterday, but I wasn't sure about the carry options with the included sheath. But it seems it would be a whole lot easier to modify the Yukanto sheath than find a sheath for my Hissatsu.

The Hissatsu will always be with me off-duty, hopefully folded. :)

Check your laws about whether this is legal. A lot of states permit folders, but if carried open they often are treated is illegal knives/daggers.

I have a Hissatsu and it is a heavy knife. I have carried it extensively and have never considered keeping it deployed. When you want to use it, it snaps out so fast. If you practice you can close it one handed. I have considered getting the Yukanto as a fixed blade option several times but have not pulled the trigger on it yet. CRKT has other fixed blade options from Lucas Burnlrey that are in the Japanese style . The Obake in 2 sizes. Just a couple options.

I'm only concerned with on duty use, so I'm covered. CT law specifically exempts military members on duty and to and from a duty station. And there's no prohibition on fixed blades from my base commander.

Off duty, CT law allows fixed blades up to 4" with a single edge.

Got that covered. Index finger releases the safety on the spine and thumb releases the liner lock. My concern is that I'm often wearing work gloves and they make operation a little slower. I'm considering the Yukanto but I'm not sure the sheath can be carried the same way I carry the Hissatsu.

Concealment is still a factor. Regardless of the letter of the law, carrying a huge fixed blade openly could have negative repercussions. I'd rather not be the instigator of the base commander re-evaluating his policy.

A 4"-5" fixed blade fits easily under my uniform. I've tried it with a Buck knife and it works fine. The Hissatsu or Yukanto have the blade type that I want, though.
