I'm considering purchasing this as my first muzzleloader:
CVA OPTIMA 50CAL SST/BLACK
http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=PR2010S
The question I can't find answered anywhere on CVA's website or elsewhere is whether this model is drilled and tapped for a scope. I would assume it is, but they also sell the model with the scope base and not iron sights. So I wanted to be sure it ready for a scope. I plan to use it with a scope, but would like the option to remove the scope and use irons.

Thanks for your help!

Ordered the rifle a few minutes ago! Also added a Durasight base / rings, a 3-9x 40mm scope and some Hornady 250gn SST low drag sabots. I will purchase the powder, primers and other needed items locally.

What other accessories do I need to get started? Cleaners? loaders? Starters?

Also any powder suggestions?

Thanks!

Blackhorn209 if you can.

Nylon bore brush, breech brush kit " cleans out the breech plug hole" #32 or 3mm drill bit to clean the carbon out of the breech plugs flash channel.

I'll send you some info links in a PM, so look out for a new message.
