I have a CZ 527 carbine in .223 that shoots @6" low at 100 yds when using the iron sights. I'd like to replace the #12 front sight on the rifle with a lower one to raise the point of impact, but don't know which one to select. The numbers range from 1 to the upper teens. Any guidance would be appreciated. TIA.

File the front sight down until you get it zeroed in and measure it with a pair of calipers. Then you will know the correct height. Call cz and tell them you need that height front sight. Before I would do that I would settle on a paticular load that is accurate in your gun and you might stumble on a load that shoots to poa in doing so.

He wouldn't be able to file the front sight if it's anything like my 527 Carbine. It has a bead like front sight like a Remington BDL.

Best option is to scope it up. Get a 2-7 variable Leupold and zero it at 25-250.
