I have been thinking about getting a CZ 527 in 7.62x39. After doing many searches for reviews I notice most seem to love them with one exception...magazine issues. Was wondering if this is a problem CZ has addressed or have recent guns still having problems with feeding issues? Don't really want to invest $650 in a rifle I will have to fiddle with the magazine to get to work. Thanks for any info.

Among the three 527s I've had here, I've not noticed repetitive magazine issues.

One 527 carbine in 7.62x39 over-rode a cartridge three or four times starting out, then didn't repeat.
The other 7.62x39 carbine never did & the .223 rifle never did.

What are you hearing?

No issues whatsoever with any of my three 527s. The magazines are ruggedly built but also look to me like they'd be relatively easy to adjust if you happen to get a bad one. I've been a fan of the 527 for a few years (have read hundreds if not thousands of posts about them on various forums) and have rarely ever seen anyone complaining about feeding issues, so I seriously doubt there is any significant issue. One thing that several people don't care for is the way the 5-round mag sticks down an inch or so below the stock. I actually like it just fine, but there's a 3-round version you can get if you want a flush magazine.

I have been shooting a CZ 527 in 762X39 for several years. And I have not had any problems with it what so ever. I bought 2 or 3 extra mag`s for it and they all have worked just fine. My CZ 527 762X39 is really a great little rifle, and I shoot and carry it alot. Mine likes Wolf brand 124gr HP`s so well, an inch at a 100yds most of the time is common, and that ammo is so cheap and easy to find. I have just bought several cases of it rather than start reloading for my rifle yet. My rifle will shoot the cheap stuff as well or better than most peoples rifles will shoot premium high priced ammo. This rifle is just, a great carry around rifle. It is light, powerful, and very accurate. And my Son and I are looking very hard at buying a 2nd one of them. I don`t think You will have any problems with a CZ 527 762X39 Carbine. I would bet you will like it more every time You shoot it, just like I do mine.

Thanks guys! You have made me feel better about this purchase.

I echo everyone's sentiments here as well also. I did have to tweak my magazine just a tad when I first got it and it has smoothed up quite well after a little use. They are fantastic rifles.

I've owned a 527 Carbine in X39 for a few years now and to this day it remains a favorite.

I did purchase two additional CZ 5-round mags. One of them had the louvre'd installation stops hand-filed too low, allowing the magazine to sit a wee bit too high in the action where the feed lips were rubbing on the bolt.

Rather than send the mag back I first measured the two good mags, then filed a few thou off the top of the bad mag's feed iips, cautious not to open the distance between them. Cleaned it, blued it and a couple of years later I can't remember which mag was which.

I have 2 CZ 527s in 7.62x39 and have had no mag problems.
There are no replacement springs that I could find but if the spring gets a little funky I'm going to try using a trimmed down popsicle stick as a spacer to increase spring tension.

Only problem I had was that it was diffiict to insert (and remove) my mags. I quickly discovered that you have to be careful when you screw the action into the stock, the design doesn't force the action into a specific spot, and if it's off-center it can be difficult to insert and remove mags. I haven't had any issues other than that, and that issue is easy to address.

Anyone have a torque spec (or recommendation) for action screws? From the factory they were so loose that you could wiggle the action in the stock.

I have two CZ 527's, one in 223 and the other in 17 Hornet. Both shoot great and have not had any feeding issues with either. The Hornet has become my favorite.
