Howdy,

I've had this pistol for about 5 months - run about 500 rounds down the tube and have struggled with a couple of minor problems, mostly FTE issues. I've been shooting mostly WW White Box ammo with a little (200 rounds) of handloads (WW brass, CCI primer, 4.7 gr. Unique, 125 gr. plated Berry bullet). Gun functions just fine when its working but Sunday afternoon at the range (temp was 103) it FTF and when I attempted to clear the jam (?) by racking the slide, the slide would not rack far enough to the rear to feed the next round. I cleared the mag and the weapon and attempted to disassemble the gun. While the take down pin removed okay, I cannot get the slide to remove from the gun. The hammer is in full cock and the trigger will not activate the hammer....seems like the gun is fully jammed? At any rate, after all this prelude, what can I do to pull the slide and inspect the gun? I'm at a loss.

Thanks for any / all assistance.

Wow, you got a double plus ungood issue there. Never had that one. Best advice, call CZ-USA at 1-800-955-4486, press for gunsmith, and ask them. The issues you were having before might have been symptomatic of this one coming up. Did you buy it new or used? Winchester White Box is junk ammo, only good for making brass, but it should still work just fine.

Gun was purchased new - I've had a couple of FTE issues with it but wrote it off to the WW WB ammo. Its a sweet shooting gun when it works but it is refusing to disassemble and I can't figure out how to get her apart to see what happened. :banghead:

Talked with CZ (great customer service) and they gave me a couple of options - appears that the firing pin block is activated and I need to de-activate the block in order to get the slide off the gun.....but if I can't, I'm going to be returning the gun for service. I'm not going to spend to much time attempting to get this thing apart - better to let the experts solve the problem. Eh?

Just a stab in the dark:
Make SURE the chamber is empty.
Push the slide FULLY forward. Push the trigger FULLY forward. With the hammer in the fully cocked postion flip the safety ON and then back OFF. Recheck that the trigger is fully forward. Pull the trigger.

If the hammer drops, your welcome. If it doesn't, sorry.

Gave it the college try and couldn't persuade the trigger to reset - or get the hammer to drop.

Called CZ and spoke with one of their gunsmiths - decided to put the thing in a box and send it back to the experts. I'm not happy about returning the gun but can't find my way through the repair process on my bench.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions (especially CZ's phone number). Guess I'm in a wait and see mode until I hear from them.......

After a couple of conversations with CZ gunsmiths, it appears that they are going to send a new replacement pistol for my gun. Evidently they felt the repair would compromise the life of the original pistol. They did not want to elaborate on the nature of the failure so I guess I'll never know exactly what failed or caused the jam.

Damn, thats some solid CS right there. Good on CZ for stepping up, even if they wouldnt say exactly what the issue was.

Yep, got to agree with top notch CS. The folks / gunsmiths that I spoke with have been amazingly helpful in this whole process - they were really over the top in their understanding and easy going attitudes. Other than my initial concern over the lock up of the pistol, they have eliminated my lack of confidence and I couldn't be a happier camper. :)
